New Photos Suggest Meizu Pro 7’s Sec Display is Real
Meizu Pro 7 is Meizu’s upcoming flagship phone which is going to be announced in a few weeks. The device has created a lot of buzz in the media thanks to the leaked photos showing a secondary display at the back of the device. The display seems to be a monochrome one made of E Ink.
A couple of days ago we saw some renders of the Meizu Pro 7 showing the secondary display. Today we got two more leaks one showing the chassis of the phone with cutouts left for the alleged secondary display, and the other one showing a hands photo of the phone with a working E Ink display. The leaked photo was shared online by a Weibo user @Fotoball, you can check out his Weibo profile in the source link below.
The idea of a secondary E Ink display was first introduced by a Russian phone manufacturer Yota. The Yotaphone featured a large E Ink display at the back of the device which could be used for reading and resulted in a prolonged battery timing. The secondary display of Meizu Pro 7, on the other hand, seems to be a tiny one sitting below the dual camera module. The display is said to display show notifications, weather information, and other important information. The display could help a lot while shooting selfies using the back camera. The concept while seems exciting, the positioning of the display feels a bit weird. The better position for the display could have been somewhere at the bottom where it would have been easy to operate or a full-length display imitating the whole front UI just like the YotaPhone.
The Meizu Pro 7 is expected to launch in the next month and will be Powered by the MediaTek’s latest flagship processor, the Helio X30. There is also a buzz on the internet pointing to a plus variant of the phone with a larger display and a more powerful Samsung Exynos 8890 processor.
