Meizu is a Chinese smartphone maker known for its unorthodox Flyme UI with quite a different navigation scheme. Today Meizu has officially announced their low end but beautiful Android smartphone the Meizu M5. With Meizu M5 the company introduces brand new bright colors at the cost of the aluminum build. The Meizu M5 comes in a polycarbonate body.
Meizu M5 Specifications
As for as the display is concerned, it has a 5.2-inch display with 2.5D glass and 720p resolution. Under the hood, there is an octa-core Mediatek chip with a clock speed of up to 1.5GHz. As for as memory is concerned, there are two variants, one with 2GB and 16GB internal memory and the other one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. The internal memory can be further increased with a microSD card slot which is built into the SIM card tray. The SIM tray can be used either to power two SIM cards or use one slot to hold the microSD card. The camera on the device looks pretty good on paper. There is a 13MP f/2.2 rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP camera for shooting some decent selfies.
There is a fingerprint sensor built into the physical home button for seamless and effortless security. There is 3070 mAh battery which will keep the lights on for quite a long time considering the 720p screen.
Meizu M5 Colors, Price, And Availability
If you are looking to buy one for yourself you can choose any of the colors including Matte Black, White, Champagne Gold, Mint Green, and Blue colors. Meizu claims that the Mint Green color model has a special UV coating to prevent the color from fading due to sun bleaching. As for the pricing goes, the 2GB version of the phone will cost CNY 700 ($103) while the 3GB version of the phone will cost CNY 900 ($132) in China.
