Today Huawei’s sub-brand Honor held a news conference in Shenzhen where it launched its Lite version of the Honor 9. The phone uses the popular full-screen design and comes with dual cameras on the front as well as on the back.
During the presentation, Honor president Zhao Ming reviewed the success of Honor phones over the past four years. Zhao Ming also revealed that from January 2017 to November 2017, Honor brand cumulative sales reached 49.68 million units, sales of more than 71.6 billion Yuan. In addition to a tremendous success at home, Honor also made some achievements in France, Germany, Britain, and other overseas markets. Zhao Ming revealed the Honor brand strategic objectives: to achieve the world’s top five within three years.
Back to the phone, Honor 9 Lite inherits the Honor 9 series trendy design. Both the front and back are covered with 2.5D glass kept together by a metal frame. Due to the new full-screen design, despite the screen being 5.65 inches, the device feels like a phone with 5.2 inches screen in the hand.
In addition to a full-screen display, this phone’s another selling point is 13MP + 2MP dual camera combos not only on the back but also on the front. Both the front and back cameras support 1080p video recording. The camera quality seems to be amazing at this price point considering the official Honor 9 camera samples revealed by Honor.
Under the hood, Honor 9 Lite is equipped with Kirin 659 octa-core processor, supplemented by 4GB of memory + 64GB internal storage. There are also two cheaper versions that come with 4GB RAM and 32GB internet memory and 3GB + 32GB. The phone comes in a total of four colors i.e Navy Blue, Seagull Gray, Pearl White, and Magic Nightfall (Read Black).
As for the price, Honor 9 Lite 4GB + 64GB version is priced at 1799 yuan($273), the 4GB + 32GB version costs 1499 yuan($227), 3GB + 32GB version price of 1199 yuan ($182).
As for the availability, the pre-orders have already started. The phone will go on sale on December 26 at 10:08. Honor 9 Youth Edition will be sold in 14 countries including India, Pakistan, Russia, and the United Kingdom.
