Nokia 9 as you may have already heard is the upcoming first true flagship phone by Nokia since its rebirth. To be honest a little less true flagship as today’s leak suggests. According to the FCC filing spotted by Twitter user @ZyadAtef12, the Nokia 9 will come with a Snapdragon 835. Since it is a 2018 flagship, we were expecting a Snapdragon 845 but anyways 835 is also a great chip.
Since the device is said to be released in January, there will be no competitor running a Snapdragon 845 chipsets, Nokia 9 might be able to draw some sales ahead of the release of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and LG G7. But to succeed, Nokia has to keep the price a bit low as there are powerful competitors available in form of Huawei Mate 10 and OnePlus 5T with quite competitive prices.
According to the FCC listing, the Nokia 9 will come with a 5.5″ OLED display supplied by LG. The phone will come with a dual 12MP+13MP rear camera. The front camera will be a 5MP camera which is a bit below the competition in terms of the resolution. As for the storage, it will come with a 128GB UFS 2.1 ROM made by Samsung. There might be a basic version with 64GB internal storage but that has yet to find out.
The phone disappoints in two areas, the processor which is the Snapdragon 835 and battery capacity of just 3250. The good news is that it will support 18W fast charging. Though the rest of the device is not bad, the highest selling point will be the price if HMD decided to keep it low.
