First and second quarters
Nokia will launch at least three phones in the first and second quarters of 2021, according to a report by Nokiapoweruser. After a ‘quiet autumn’ at the Finnish smartphone manufacturer, it will resume the thread of the rapid launches.
The first device that Nokia will reveal is the low-end Nokia 1.4. Its predecessor, the 1.3, came in March. There is speculation for the successor about a launch in February, although no confirmation has been received from Nokia.
Nokia 1.4
Previous rumors indicate that the low-end phone will cost less than $100, so the suggested retail price is in line with the Nokia 1.3. The Nokia 1.4’s screen has a 6.51-inch diagonal, with an HD + resolution. Internally we find a ‘quad-core chipset’ clocked at 1.3 GHz. We don’t know the name of the chipset yet. As far as storage memory is concerned, you will only find 1 GB of RAM in the Nokia 1.3, together with 16 GB of storage memory. Finally, the phone includes a 4,000 mAh battery and two cameras with an 8 MP and 2 MP resolution respectively.
Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G
After the launch of the Nokia 1.4 in February, HMD Global will continue its way towards the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G. The design of the Nokia 6.2 successor has already been leaked, but this time more details have been leaked about the launch of the phone. Nokiapoweruser states that Nokia will introduce the phone in late March or early April, possibly together with the Nokia 7.3 / 7.4 5G.
Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G will come with a Snapdragon 480 chipset. Furthermore, the device has a 6.4-inch screen with a Full HD + resolution. On the back, we see a camera setup with four sensors. The main camera has a 48 MP resolution that will feature ZEISS lenses. Other sensors on the back of the phone are wide-angle, macro, and depth cameras. Resolutions and other details about these sensors are as yet unknown.
The base model of the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G, which includes 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage memory. The phone will cost around $249. It is not yet known what other storage configurations will be available on the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G.
Nokia 7.3 / 7.4 5G
The third device for the first and second quarter of 2021 is the Nokia 7.3 / 7.4 5G. Nokia has planned to launch the device in late March or early April. Nokia will launch the phone together with the Nokia 6.3 / 6.4 5G.
Unlike the Nokia 6.3 5G, the 7.3 / 7.4 5G uses the Snapdragon 690 chipset. The chipset first came inside the OnePlus Nord N10 5G, among others. The Nokia phone will pack 4 GB RAM and at least 64 GB storage, with the option to purchase a 128 GB model. The Nokia 7.3 / 7.4 5G’s screen has a 6.39-inch diagonal, has a Full HD + resolution, and supports a 90 Hz refresh rate.
On the back of the Nokia 7.3 5G, we also find four camera sensors. The main camera of which has a 48 MP or 64 MP resolution. There would also be a 12 MP wide-angle camera, a 2 MP depth, and a 2 MP macro sensor. Finally, the Nokia 7.3 5G will come with a 5,000 mAh battery. The suggested retail price is approximately $399 for the variant with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage memory.
Not a high-end phone
For the time being, Nokia is missing a high-end phone on this list: the launch of the Nokia 9.3 PureView has been anticipated for a long time, but it seems to be postponed every time. We don’t know whether HMD Global still wants to commit to a high-end phone. What we know is that Nokia will launch the Nokia 8.4 5G later this year, together with the Nokia 5.5. Details about those phones are still scarce.
