First Smartphone With 10x Optical Zoom
The showpiece is the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom Edition. As the name suggests, this smartphone has a 10x optical zoom lens. Oppo surpasses the record of the recently released Huawei P30 Pro, which has 5x optical zoom. Such a lens lets you zoom in a lot without losing the quality.
This Reno has the same design, with a slightly larger screen of 6.6 inches. This variant also has the more powerful Snapdragon 855 chip. It is a bit more expensive: the 10x Zoom Edition will cost about $550 excluding VAT in China, for a variant with 6GB of working memory and 128GB of storage. Those prices go up to $650 for a variant with 8 GB of memory and 256 GB of storage.
Global Release Later This Month
We don’t have any info on how much will it cost in the US or Europe but the phone will be released at an event in Zurich later this month.
