After the many positive reactions received by the Pocophone F1, because of its good quality and powerful specs at an unbelievably low price, YouTuber JerryRigEverything has tried to show the bad side of the phone: the build quality. Although it turned out to be a lot solid than expected.
The Pocophone F1 has excited the Android community as a whole, thanks to the powerful specs and the exceptionally low price. In order to achieve such a low price tag, the company naturally had to make a number of compromises, and in this case, it was particularly detrimental to the quality of the materials that make up the device. The entire chassis is made of plastic including the side frame which raised some concerns about the durability of the device.
In the latest video from YouTuber JerryRigEverything who likes to destroy things, you can see how the smartphone undergoes all the usual torture tests, and eventually even passes them through. In this brutal test, the phone is cut into with knives, it is bent and eventually even brought into contact with fire. All this made for an ugly but still usable device. Pocophone F1 has passed the whole ordeal and got a thumbs-up from the Jerry himself at the end of the video. You can find the video at the bottom of this article.
We all know the disadvantages of a plastic smartphone. It feels cheap, can distort, gets scratches quickly, etc. This phone turns out to be an exception because it is solid and feels solid. The only thing it is vulnerable to, are scratches. When you put keys or coins in the same pocket as your phone, it’s back may easily get scratched. After all, the plastic is a soft material and cannot stand metal. The positive thing is that the screen can withstand scratches of up to 6 on the hardness scale ‘Mohs scale’ and that the fingerprint scanner is virtually invincible.
All in all, it is a device that continues to amaze us with its price-quality ratio. We can not wait to take our hands on this one. At this price point, this phone is a steal and I don’t mind a plastic body. At least it looks durable than glass.
