The specifications of the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active have been leaked, thanks to Sammobile. The wearable gets a smaller screen, no ring, no bezel and many sensors, according to the leaked details.
Samsung Galaxy Watch Active specifications leaked out
At the beginning of this month, photos of a ‘Galaxy Sport’ surfaced, but it seems that ‘Galaxy Watch Active’ is the definitive name of the wearable. Thanks to Sammobile, almost all specifications of this Galaxy Watch Active have now been leaked.
According to the source, the wearable has
Galaxy Watch Active Thicker Than Apple Watch
The Galaxy Watch Active is slightly smaller than the regular Galaxy Watch, which Samsung released last year with a 1.2 inch. Partly because of this, the Watch Active also has a smaller battery with a capacity of 236 mAh. The device is not really thin: sources speak about a thickness of 13 millimeters. To illustrate: the latest Apple Watch is only 10.7 millimeters thick.
However, the smartwatch is equipped with all kinds of sensors aimed at active users. For example, a pedometer, heart rate monitor, GPS support, sleep monitor and activity tracker are available. The Watch Active is also waterproof up to fifty meters deep. It is powered by an Exynos 9110 chip with two cores, 4GB memory, Bluetooth, wifi and NFC support. As a result, the Watch can also function independently if your smartphone is not around. This allows you to listen to music or store your route while you are running.
Although many details have already been published, Samsung still has to reveal the smartwatch. Probably that happens at the end of February at an event in San Francisco. On 20 February a new edition of Samsung Unpacked will take place, where the manufacturer will also present the Galaxy S10 and some variants. This smartwatch may also see the light of day at the event.
