The Ultra-thin Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air With 4G Connectivity Launched

Xiaomi is a Chinese brand known for its beautifully crafted flagship grade but affordable smartphones. But, smartphones are not the only devices that Xiaomi develops. It develops a wide array of gadgets ranging from smartphones, drones, and power banks to smart rice cookers and air purifiers. The latest aim of Xiaomi is to dominate internet of things industry. It is making all kinds of connected devices.

A few months ago Xiaomi launched its first 13.3″ ultrabook called Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air (Yes, it does sound like Apple Macbook Air). Today, Xiaomi has unveiled two more versions of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air having 4G connectivity. One is a smaller version having a 12.5 inches screen size. The other one comes with a 13.3 inch screen and a new powerful Core i7 processor.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5″ comes in a compact all-metal body and support for 4G network without the need of a SIM slot.  This is quite similar to the previous 12.5″ Mi Notebook Air when it comes to the hardware specs powered by an Intel Core M3 processor along with 4GB RAM. Besides the 4GB connectivity, another highlight of the Mi Notebook Air 12.5″ 4G LTE is a new powerful battery which Xiaomi claims to last up to 11.5 hours. On the storage front, it packs a 128GB STATAT SSD which can be expanded. Mi Notebook Air 4G LTE also comes with improved custom AKG speakers and Dolby surround sound support.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook  Air 13.3″ 4G LTE Hardware Specifications

Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ 4G LTE packs some real power rocking a powerful Intel Core i7 processor that is clocked at 3.0GHz along with a dedicated GeForce 940Mx GPU. There is an 8GB DDR4 RAM to offer some real multitasking and moderate gaming. The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ 4G LTE also comes with a larger 256GB PCIe SSD hard drive which is also further expandable. While it packs a similar battery to the 12.5″ version, it may last just 9.5 hours due to the powerful Core i7 processor. The custom AKG speakers and Dolby surround support also make its way to Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ 4G LTE.

Both of these new 4G LTE enabled Mi Macbook Air ultrabooks have been launched in partnership with China Mobile thus comes with 4GB free data every month for at least a year. Xiaomi claims both the versions to offers download speed as high as 80Mbps which is said to be faster than Apple’s iPad Pro.

Both the Mi Notebook Air 4G are claimed to run Photoshop, CAD and other graphics intense professional software and 3D games thanks to the built-in 1GB GDDR5 NVIDIA GeForce 940Mx graphic card. Both the 4G enabled Mi Notebook Air 4G support Direct X 12, CUDA, PhysX and Boost 2.0 game effects.

Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air 12.5″ and 13.3″ 4G LTE Price

The 12.5″ version of the Mi Notebook Air 4G LTE is priced at 4699 yuan which equals to $676. The bigger 13.3″ Mi Notebook Air 4G LTE starts at 6999 yuan which equals $1007 USD.
