Vivo is firmly working hard releasing new high-end phones. Last week the Vivo X20 Plus UD was launched. This week there are specifications leaked of a phone that will make the X20 quickly forgotten. The Xplay7 probably puts a number of records on its name.
It has long been speculated about which phone would be the first with a fingerprint scanner under the display. In August it seemed that the Vivo Xplay7 was going to be that phone, but the X20 Vivo Plus UD grabbed that honor.
Now it appears that the first is not always the best. On the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, a number of presentation slides have been shown that reveal a few things. The leak reveals specifications that are over the top. The Vivo Xplay7 also gets an under-the-display fingerprint scanner as expected, but furthermore, it bests its predecessor on all fronts.
The screen will likely cover 6 inches and will have a screen-to-body of 92.9 percent. It could also be provided with a 4K resolution. The double IMX camera set-up would be supplied by Sony and could produce up to four times more light output than you would normally expect. Face recognition will be present in combination with the aforementioned fingerprint scanner.
Yet the craziest specs still have to come. The device will probably be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and will receive a memory that you could confuse with storage. 10GB of RAM seems to be a new record and certainly if you also have the choice of 256GB or 512GB of storage. These are specifications that you will not find in an average laptop, let alone a phone.
We don’t know for sure when this phone comes on the market. The price of the Xplay6 is currently around $500 and that is pricey for a phone from the end of 2016. The Xplay7 will probably get a hefty price tag.
